(Zechariah 14:7; Matthew 24:36; Revelation 9:15; 16:15)
Zechariah said that the Day of the Lord would be a unique Day, known only to God.1Zech 14:7 Jesus said, “Of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven nor the Son. Only the Father knows.”2Matt 24:36
In the Book of Revelation, John told us that the angels bound at the great river Euphrates were prepared by God “for the hour and day and month and year.”3Rev 9:15 On that day, our Lord Jesus Christ will return to rescue His saints. But even our Lord does not know when He will return.
Many have foolishly tried to predict the day of His return, even selling all their possessions, believing that they were useless. But Paul said, “Let no one in any way deceive, [for that Day] will by no means come until the man of lawlessness has been revealed … who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called God or object of worship.”42Thes 2:3-4
Today, the man of sin has been revealed, and it seems that we know the number of years that remain. But we need to heed the words of the apostle Peter, who said, “Do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord a day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness.”52Pe 3:8-10 The Day of the Lord seems far off, but for all of us, it will come “in a moment, and a twinkling of an eye…”61Cor 15:52 When we breath our last breath, the Day of the Lord will come as a twinkling of an eye.
Jesus warned us that He would return as a thief in the night.7Rev 16:15
