(Isaiah 49:12; Ezekiel 43:2; Zechariah 6:12; Revelation 8:4-5)
In the beginning of the twentieth century, many in the West were praying for the holy spirit, hoping to rebuild God’s temple.
But Ezekiel said the glory of God would come from the East.1Eze 43:2 In Jesus’ day, Zechariah 6:12 read, “Behold, the man whose name is the East! He shall build the temple of the LORD.” Isaiah said that those whom Peter called “afar off” in Acts 2:39 were from “Sinim,” or China.2Isa 49:12
In Revelation 8, we read, “The prayers of the saints went up before God out of the angel’s hand … Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar and threw it to the earth.”3Rev 8:4-5 That angel was Christ, and the fire was the same holy spirit that He poured out on the day of Pentecost.4Act 2:33
