Introduction to the Seven Bowls of Wrath
I saw another sign in heaven – John is about to introduce a new series of revelations. The chronological order is again disrupted.
in them the wrath of God is finished – when the bowls of wrath are complete.
a sea of glass mixed with fire – those of the Sanctified Church, as having gone through plagues of Egypt, safely crossing on top of the Red Sea, delivered through baptism. The sea of glass and fire represents the baptism of water and the Holy Spirit: “I baptize you with water..He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” (Matt 3:11). Baptism is also compared to crossing the Red Sea by Paul in 1 Cor 10:1-2.
those victorious over the beast and his image – we are now beyond the LORD’s Day. The beast, the false Christ, and his image, the false God, of the Trinity have been defeated.
and the number of his name – victorious over the Latin man, Latienos, 666, the corruption of the truth by “Latin Christianity.”
holding harps of God – a metaphor of praying in the Spirit, praying in tongues, as described in 1 Corinthians 14:7, and Revelation 14:2.
they sang the song of Moses, the bond servant of God – the deliverance of God’s people is similar to the deliverance of God’s people from Egypt. Being victorious they sing the song of Moses, the song the Israelites sang after God delivered them from Egypt.
and of the Lamb – here we have the song from two Covenants, the Son of Moses and the Song of the Lamb. The Song of the Lamb, as we discussed in Revelation 14:3, is a song in the Spirit (the Lamb), as described in 1 Corinthians 14:15.
King of the nations – see Zech 14:9, and Rev 11:15, “in that Day the LORD shall be King over all the earth.”
Your righteous acts have been revealed – the whole plan of God, and His love to redeem mankind.
the seven angels who had the seven bowls of wrath – these are the same Angels, and plagues, we saw in Revelation 8,9 and 11.
one of the four living creatures – which must be the eagle, the last day saints who work with the Angels to bring the wrath of God
seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God – God’s wrath is righteous and beautiful as signified by the golden bowls
until the seven plagues were finished – the same plagues as Revelation 8,9 and 11.
